Wow! I cannot believe our little girl is a year and a half old now. Sometimes I can't believe I have a little person living in my house that didn't exist a couple of years ago. Amazing. She is so wonderful.
I thought since she is such a big girl now that I would let her write this update.

Hello! Mommy has finally let me get my little hands on this computer. I've been waiting patiently...well, maybe not SO patiently. Lately whenever Mommy gets on the computer, I like to slam my hands on the keyboard (like her) and pull the laptop screen down so I can see what she is looking at so intently. She thinks I am jealous of the attention she is giving the computer, but really I just want to get my chance to play with it. She and Daddy really like their computers, so I figure they must be really fun to play with.
Mommy told me that lots of my friends have written updates on their mommy's blogs about their lives and she thought I might like to do one too. My cousin, Savannah, wrote some posts during her early months and my friend, Nate, has talked about his experience in the hospital too. I think my friend, Layla, has been writing too. We've never met, but I know a lot about her. I'm excited to get my chance - even though Mommy waited till I was an old lady to give me my first shot at it. Oh well, I really like her a lot, so I'll forgive the oversight. I know she's been doing a lot of writing about me, so that's almost as good.
Now, let's get too it. I am a year and a half old now and my life is getting more exciting every day. I like to do a lot of things. One of my favorites is talking. Mommy and Daddy think I am talking a lot more than I used to, but I know I've been talking to them for months. I think they are just finally starting to learn my language. They like the way I repeat the things they say because it means my "vocabulary is increasing" - that's what Mommy says at least.
I can say a lot of words now (some I've been saying for a while):
- No (that used to be my favorite because it got a lot of reaction)
- Go (sometimes mommy thinks I dance when I say this one, but really I'm using my weight to make her move...I've got places to go!)
- Hey and sometimes Hi (I wave my hand side to side when I say Hey)
- Bye bye (I wave my fingers up and down for this one...I like to make sure people hear me say bye so I usually repeat it at least 5 times before I leave the room. I'm just being curteous.)
- More (This one is usually about food. I like food. Mommy says I sound like I have a weird accent when I say this one - I think I just say it like she does...maybe she's the one with the weird accent)
- Dog (Mommy thinks I call all animals dogs, but really dogs are just my favorite animals.) - I can also say Halie (Hey or Heyie), Truck (uck), Maddie (ma-ee), Zoe (zo zo), Remi (emi)
- Other animals: Horse (hor) - Mommy wants to work on this one for some reason, Goat (go), Cow (ow or Moo), and Sheep (baaaa - that's close enough right?)
- Oh no - I say this when something bad happens like I drop my drink
- All done (and I do the sign language for it) - I mostly say this when I'm done eating or I want mommy to stop sucking snot out of my nose with that awful blue thing - I really don't like that thing.
- Ready (re-ee) - I say this when I'm done getting my diaper changed or I'm ready to go some place.
- Please - really I just know the sign for this one, but I like saying it because Mommy and Daddy always pick me up when I say it (or give me something I can't reach). Mommy calls it "asking nicely."
- Daddy (da-ee or da-dee) - this one is my absolute favorite. My Daddy is great! I think he is the funniest person I have ever met and he is really good at holding me. I snuggle with him in bed almost every morning. I really like to call Daddy because he always comes when he hears me.
- Mommy (ma-mee or mamamama) - I'm working on saying this one more often, but I always say it when I need someone to hold me. Mommy is usually nearby when I need her, so I don't have to call for her very often. We spend a lot of time together.
- Nigh-Nigh (I say this when I go to bed or I sometimes when I am very sleep)
- I love you (lu-loo) I'm working on this one. Sometimes I forget to say it because I like to give kisses when people say they love me. I can't talk and kiss at the same time.
- Thank you (ank oo) - Mommy usually has to remind me to say this one, but I'm getting better at doing it on my own.
- On (I say this when I need help putting my bracelet on.)
- Stay (tay) -This is dog command and I hear it a lot, so I help our dogs out by telling them when I want them to stay too.
- Book (I leave the k sound off)
- Ball (I leave the l sound off usually) - Mommy thinks these both sound a lot alike when I say them.
- Football (oo ba) - Daddy says a foot ball is a very special ball.
- Grandaddy (that's my daddy's daddy)
- Silas (si or si-es) - he's my favorite boy cousin and he is really, really cool and smart and can do so many things
- Bed (be) - I'm not a really big fan of saying final consonant sounds.
- Yay! - This is how we celebrate things I do. I like to clap when I say it.
- Yeah - This is how I say yes. Mommy and Daddy think I have comedic timing when I say yes and no.
- Play (pay) - Last night Daddy asked me what kind of job I wanted and I told him I wanted to "play" with "Silas" and "Grandaddy" was going to pay me $20,000 a year to do it.
- Juice (joo or juice) - I call every drink juice.
- Pretty (pre-ee) - Usually how I describe flowers
- Baby
- Row (As in "Row, Row, Row your Boat")
- Snow (very soft S on No) - As in "Snow, Snow, Snow" from Mommy's ring tone
- Woof, woof - dog bark sound
- Bird (bir)
- I also have a mean fake cough - heehee
- Ah ah choo
- dance
- Sit
- Nose (no)
- Ear (ee)
- Eye
- Belly
- Belly button
- Toes
- Shoe (soo)
- Diaper (dye)
- Wipe (why)
- Potty (po-ee)
- Duck
Well, Mommy just told me I have to limit my computer time, so I guess this is all for today. I'm hoping Mommy will let me share more with you next week. I have so much to share. You should tell Mommy you think I should, too.
Happy Half-birthday to me!!!
