- starting the day with a bowl of cereal and 2 Peter 1 in a sleepy house awake all by myself..well, with Halie
- my first meeting of the day with a student who has made such progress this semester and having extra time to visit with her after out meeting
- coming home from the office to see Ariel playing with her Daddy...and dressed in daddy-style (always cute but different than mommy-style)
- making grilled cheese sandwiches from the freezer...they were great! browned up better than my fresh ones usually do
- hearing the doctor gush about how adorable, smart, and wonderful our lady is
- holding my no-nap baby resting her head on my shoulder while we waited for daddy in the apple store
- getting a free sample of tortilla chip and salsa at Harry & David...oh how I love that place, and that chip, wow
- talking with a mommy in the mall, she said as she watched me holding Ariel that she could just feel what it felt like and it made her miss her babies so much (they are in their 30s now)
- watching Ariel dance so hard to the Brookstone music that people stopped to comment
- noticing again how well Ariel listens when she is told not to do something, to put it down, not to touch, to come back, that she has to hold my hand
- when Ariel backed across the room and tried to sit on my shoulder
- noticing that as Jason and I talked, she discovered a bag of grapes in my purse and was taking them out one by one and eating them...ever so quietly
- talking with my husband for the hour long drive home
- giving in and buying a burger at Sonic and sharing it with Jason (we got free tots too)
- washing dishes and throwing together dinner with Jason
- getting to talk with our favorite genetic counselor at our appointment today (we've met with three so far and we definitely have a favorite)
- telling Ariel "I love you" and hearing her respond "lu loo"
What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
