Day Ninety: We all stayed home today. Jason didn't have work. I decided not to either. We had a nice day together. We did a lot around the house.
I finished grocery shopping. I needed to get produce, bread, and top soil (that was for the garden, not to eat). Jason did some more yard work. He's been working steadily on our trees...shaping them up. It looks great. Ariel showed me that she knows what a rabbit is by bringing me two of her stuffed bunnies. She also seems to know that bunnies and rabbits are the same (at least in our house).
We were reading the "Velveteen Rabbit." When she saw a picture of the boy cuddling his rabbit in bed, she walked away and brought me the rabbit she sleeps with every night. Then she went and got another rabbit that she keeps with her other stuffed animals. I was shocked. I didn't ask her to do this at all. This is not something we have been working on or anything. She just saw the bunny and showed me hers. These were the only stuffed bunnies in the room and she did not bring any other animals...there were several others. It was really sweet. She's so smart.
I did some clothing sorting today too. Put away a bunch of my professional clothes - they aren't getting worn right now and take up space. Swapped out winter clothes for spring/summer stuff. Finished sorting Ariel's clothes for things she has out grown or are too winter...this is constantly going on. I keep a bag on the shelf in her closet and every time I find something she has outgrown I toss it in and then every couples months I do a quick sort of her clothes in an effort to keep things neat and organized. On that same note, we brought all of her clothes down from the attic and I sorted them a little better. Ariel's cousin Savannah is about ready for the next size of clothes and her mama is bringing back things she has outgrown soon. I now have room to put away the little stuff and the next size up is easily accessible for Lindsey to pick stuff out.
I did temporary planting in the garden and got things ready for the potatoes. Might get them out tomorrow. I made dinner and tripled it for freezing, but we didn't get the batch cooking done like I'd hoped. Oh well. I'm not all that disappointed. I'm confident I'll get stuff done here and there. I'm pretty motivated.
I had a good day. A great day. It's not over though...gonna do a little more straightening and laundry before bed.
Thank you, God, for warm sunny weather. Thank you for my perfect family. Thank you for productive days. Thank you for peaceful days. Thank you for keeping Jason safe as he climbed our tree with a variety of saws. Thank you for the way Ariel is learning constantly. Thank you for fruit and veggies.
Thank you, God. None of this would be without you.
What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
