Day one hundred three: There was a cookout after church today. There was a pretty good turn out. The weather was nice (even if I could have stood for a few degrees more). The food was excellent. Seriously, I don't remember the last time I ate somewhere with this much variety of food that ALL tasted great. I am not exaggerating. I promise. Conveniently, Ariel agreed and ate a great lunch. This came in handy as we had a late dinner, but she had such a good lunch that I was not worried at all.
Beyond the food, the company was above average. I feel like I do not get a lot of opportunity to sit and visit these days for some reason, but today I did. Actually, last night I did too...but that's a whole other event. Visits are good for my heart.
I think it is just that simple. I need visiting time and I am grateful to have had some quality visiting time this weekend.
Thank you, God, for our lunch today. The host family is warm and welcoming. The food was scrumptious. It was relaxing and interesting and oh so pleasant. Thank you for putting us with this church family. I truly feel like part of the family. Please help me to try to give back as much as I receive.
What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
