Day Thirty-six: Tonight we drove up to VA for our weekly planning meeting and small group. We missed last week and the past two weeks of Sundays, so I was ready for some church time. I'm really not sure how productive we were at this week's meeting, but I hope it was helpful. Small group went nicely. It's such a good time to connect with other Christians. Really. I love the opportunity to think through Scripture and God's will. I love getting more friends because we are connecting through God. I also love our weekly planning meetings - even when they are less than productive. We always eat dinner together and I've really come to respect the power of sharing a meal together. It really seems to have brought us closer to one another. It's like somehow psychologically eating is an intimate thing. Maybe that's another reason communion involves food and drink. One more reminder that God really knows what He's doing.
Thank you, God, for the kind of reflection, direction, and inspiration that can come from sharing my life with others. Thank you for making me with a need for other people and blessing me with people in my life. Please help me to be a blessing to them.
What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
