Day Thirty-two: Today I agreed to attend a middle school youth event as a sponsor. I haven't really participated in one of these types of events in a while, but I'm excited. Middle schoolers are one of my favorite age of youth. I appreciate their "in-the-middleness" - still kinda liking kid stuff, but wanting to be treated like an adult. They have a level of innocence and excitement about life that is refreshing. They are impressionable, sincere, and silly. They are on the verge of making major decisions in life; the kinds of things that might decide the type of people they will be in life. This is the time when peer groups are being selected.
I hope we enjoy this weekend trip together and get to know each other better. I hope our girls are impacted to get to know God personally.
Thank you God for this period of life. Thank you for allowing me to appreciate it. Thank you for my friend, Lisa, who has a heart for out middle school youth ministry. Please bless this event and all the youth who attend it.
What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
