I used TurboTax as I told you I would. It was a little more expensive than I hoped, but I was able to do it all online (no downloading onto my computer) and without purchasing help from an "expert." We have to file our regular 1040, but also self-employment earnings for Jason and for two different states. I think it was worth it though.
Quick sidenote: Ariel is so cute! I wish you could see her as I'm writing. She's climbing in her rocking chair and twisting/curling up in it. She loves this little chair. Unfortunately, we have temporarily (I hope) misplaced the cord that connects our camera to our computer. So no pictures for you today. Sorry.
I am not terribly thankful for tax season, but I am thankful that there are tools that make it easier and to answer my questions about the complicated stuff. I am definitely thankful that it is now over for us...for one more year. I suppose I should find ways to be thankful for tax season itself...can I do that without getting all political on this blog? Hmmm...probably not a great idea. Let's just say I see the good intentions involved with using our tax dollars. I appreciate good intentions. Can I leave it at that?
Thank you, God, for the money we had this past year to keep us clothed, fed, and sheltered. Thank you allowing us the ability to give back to you. Thank you for all the little extras that we didn't need, but made things more fun. Thank you for our jobs and of course our perfect little tax break, Ariel (not because she is a tax break, of course). We were greatly blessed in 2009. We thank You for that.
What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
