Recipe Review of the Week - Beefy Sausage Cheese Dip
This time its different. I'll share one of our favorites.

This is a dip that my dad makes occassionally and I really love it. I like it so much that it was a special addition at our wedding reception. It's super easy, but really good.

1 block of velveeta cheese (16 oz)
1 med jar chunky salsa
1 small jar picante sauce
1 lb ground beef

Brown the beef. Drain. Cut up the cheese block and put into a saucepan. Add salsa and picante sauce. Add beef. Heat over medium low to melt cheese. Stir well. Serve with tortilla chips.

It can also be made in a crockpot, but takes longer for the cheese to melt. I often double it for larger crowds. Can be refridgerated and reheated...crockpot is really nice for this.

This weekend we made this dip for our Super Bowl evening. Jason wanted to try something different, so he picked up some sausage instead of beef. I was skeptical, but it turned out good. A little spicy for my taste, but most things are. I'd definitely do it again. I'd make sure I had mild sausage and mild salsa though...I've never been able to find mild picante. I try to only use one ingredient with heat.

This is just a tasty treat. Not healthy...though there is salsa, so veggies are there. Jason likes it, I like it, even Ariel likes it.
