Day Fifty-seven: Tonight, we met with our small group. We are talking about the Holy Spirit and following His promptings in our lives. Honestly, I feel a little blind trying to contribute to the discussion. I don't know a whole lot for certain about the Holy Spirit. I don't like saying things are certain when they are so unclear. It is a difficult topic. One thing I'm pretty sure about...ugghh I don't even like saying I'm sure at all. I don't want to be completely off base, so I'd rather say nothing.
Anyhow, I believe the writer's of Scripture were inspired by the Holy Spirit; that the words we read in the Bible are a message from God written down by human hands. I am so thankful for Scripture; for communication from God. It guides, it teaches, it corrects and rebukes, it comforts, it reveals. I am grateful that the men who wrote down God's words for us were willing to listen to the Holy Spirit's promptings - willing to act. What would we, I do without the Bible?
Thank you, God, for using regular men to bring us your Message. Thank you Holy Spirit for guiding me and working in my life even though I understand you so little. Thank you for allowing us to respond to Your promptings in ways that make a difference. Please give our group wisdom in this study. Help us to understand You better.
What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
