Day Twenty-one: I am thankful for the vast variety of foods and flavors we get to enjoy. Sweet, sour, spicy, salty, savory. Texture adds a lot to food too. I know a lot of people who don't like certain foods because of texture - like beans or even jello. I'm not one of those people (usually). I think texture adds to the variety, the richness. I like foods alone - like a piece of fruit or a cracker. I also like food combined - like a casserole or soup. I love sweets! Probably too much. Eating is a treat to me. It's not a chore. I genuinely enjoy savoring the flavors. I look forward to trying new recipes, regardless of how they turn out just to try something new. Mmmm...now I'm getting hungry.
Thank you, God, for the sense of taste and smell. They make food so much more enjoyable. Food is a necessary part of life; its sustains us. You made is fun. You made it a treat. Thank you again for taking a requirement and making it a blessing. You are so generous.
What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
