Older and Wiser

Day Eight: Today I am thankful for the older, wiser women in my life. I won't mention names so that they don't know that I know they are older. :) I so appreciate these ladies though. I am headstrong sometimes (...among other negative descriptive words). These women are wise. They know so much more than me. They have had many experiences and learned from them. They share them with me. I would not exchange my opportunities for long talks (or even quick talks) with them. They challenge me, correct me, humble me, uplift me, encourage me, befriend me. They are my examples. I am thankful that I can call them friends.

Thank you, God, for the blessings of community. Thank you for the ability to learn from one another and share with one another. Thank you for putting such special women in my life (and knowing I need them so desperately). Please rain blessings upon them all over and over again.

"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self- controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no-one will malign the word of God."           - Titus 2:3-5
