Go Cowboys!

Day Four: Today, I am thankful for NFL football. Sound silly? Well, I am thankful for it. It gives my husband great joy (usually - right now it is giving him great stress as he is watching the Dallas Cowboys playoff game against the Philedelphia Eagles). Anyhow, I didn't watch football at all before we got married, but since then I have become a fan. It is something we can do together. It has been a learning experience for me (and I love learning). During our many car rides, it is not unusual for Jason to drill me about football - name all the NFL teams and cities, name all the teams by conference and division, name all the quarterbacks by team. I've been a fantasy football team "owner" for the past three years. Two out of three of those years (maybe three out of three, can't remember) I made it to the playoffs. I even have my own Jason Witten jersey. It's fun. Our only disagreement is that I have a "secret"(though shrinking) affection for the Pittsburgh Steelers - Jason HATES the Steelers (something about a lost superbowl game in the 90s).

God, thank you for giving us so many forms of entertainment and opportunities to grow closer to one another through them.

  1. I'm thankful for NFL football too! Although I'm not as educated on all the players and teams as you are I do enjoy watching it.
Last night Chris and I were able to cuddle up on the couch...all by ourselves...and watch the game.
