Hard to say thank you

Day One hundred thirty four: 30 day challenge. Day fifteen.

Passage. Psalm 50:14-15, 23.

Thoughts. "Sacrifice thank offerings to me." What does that mean? Should thankfulness be a sacrifice? a challenge? require effort? The challenge today speaks again to those times when nothing seems praiseworthy. It asks me to list all the difficult things in my life and use this list as a basis for thanksgiving. It goes on to say I should track these things for how God uses them. Maybe they cause me to rely on Him more, to follow Him more closely, to seek Him out more through prayer.

Thank you, God, for trials that produce perseverence. Thank you for letting me turn to You repeatedly when I experience difficulties. Thank you for giving me peace and comfort and relief when I turn to You.

What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
