Summer fun

Day one hundred sixty one: Today was fun. It started with pancakes and bananas. Which, because we did it right, led to bathtime for the little girl. Before lunch, we played in the sandbox out back for a while and filled up the little pool. I was planning to fill it up before lunch, so the water had time warm up for us to play in after naptime. Ariel didn't think much of my plan. We played in the water before and after naptime and a little more after dinner.

I was really impressed by how different the little pool experience was this year from last year. She is so much more steady and confident and interested and experimental this year. She climbed in, she sat, she reclined, she kneeled, she stood, she walked, she splashed, she poured, she kicked, she danced. Of course, she also smiled, giggled, and laughed too.

We started in the sandbox, then found the pool more interesting - but we went back to the sandbox a little too. Until....

Daddy showed up to get his golf clubs. He needed a hello kiss.

Thank you, God, for today. Thank you for summer fun. Thank you for pools and sandboxes. Thank you for our little girl who loves her daddy and her Daddy who loves her too. Thank you for the breeze that allowed us to stay outside more than usual. Thank you for change and growth. Thank you for allowing me to see such significant change in Ariel over the last year. Thank you for each little change.

On a more personal note, thank you for allowing this headache to go away eventually. Goodnight.

What's this about? I decided on my birthday to make a commitment to being intentionally thankful. I challenged myself to post one thing I am thankful for everyday this year.
