"No"

Ariel gets around easily and quickly these days. She is good at crawling and cruising. So fittingly, we have started saying "No" more often. So Ariel has picked up on it too. When we say no to something, she might reach for it again but only go half way and then start shaking her head as if to remind herself "No, I shouldn't do that" or maybe its to show us that she understands. That's likely right?? ;) She really likes shaking her head "No." She usually does it in response to any question and sometimes even says something like "No". Anyhow, sometimes "No" isn't enough, we have added a small pop on the hand when necessary. Today, when I set her on her changing table to change her diaper, I mentioned that she seemed like she might be ready for another nap since she was getting cranky and asked her what she thought. She looked right at, me shook her head vigorously, and moved her hands like she was popping her own hand. She may have even made a noise that sounded like "no" - I don't remember as I was so shocked and amused that she popped her hand.
